This work is from a series of Glass Fusion Art combining the artwork of Sue Howells and the skill of Olivia Evans, the glass artist.

The production of this work is a very highly skilled process using cut and powdered coloured glass. The original image is copied faithfully, building up layers of hand-cut glass until the glass image is the same as the original watercolour.

The image is then placed in a kiln and fired at 800º for 12 hours. Once it has cooled the image is checked. The heat and the prevailing conditions on the day make the picture fuse and move differently, making each piece unique and individual, so it should be considered as original art. Forms of Fused Glass Art have been known since Egyptian times and before.
